Let’s get one thing straight – big data isn’t the answer

It started as a fired up rant that turned into one of my longer and more popular articles on Clickz.

In my mind it’s clear but the industry buzzword bingo going on is distracting some of us from how to tackle it.

In marketing we need to focus on data that informs our view on customer behaviour, but it doesn’t stop there.

I had a crack at defining the 7 steps to getting the most out of your Data, something like:

1. Clear goals

2. Quality over quantity

3. People powered

4. Technology

5. Filter the noise

6. Align to goals

7. Analyse, decide, act, monitor and repeat
