It’s funny, this video is in no way original in its concept, and there have been many like this produced. From my experience (limited) and the continued production and debate around this topic tells me that the people spending the dollars are not learning or probably more likely not willing to change.

Change is a big scary word for spends of money i.e. advertisers. What they tell me is “We’re not ready for social media yet, we need to finish our TVC or update our website first, then we’ll look at that”.

The thing that get’s my clients to sit up and take notice is when they find out their message is being managed for them through this ‘new technology’ (social media) and it’s up to them whether they want to manage the message or be apart of it.

Most cry, get over it and then start participating. (With some coaching)
