G’day I’m Simon T Small. This blog is a running commentary on marketing and digital media in Australia. Digital media should be seen as a marketing channel; a hybrid of everything from Direct Marketing to customer service to mass media marketing. It’s very powerful, it can be good or bad for you depending on how you approach it. To keep in touch subscribe to the RSS feed, my Twitter, Friend Feed.

Simon I’m looking forward to seeing more on this. I’m an expat living in the U.S, so I’m very aware of the differences in digital media penetration between here and home.
For one thing, knowing about the draconian bandwidth and download caps back home compared to here in the states, I’d be interested to hear your opinion on how this affects online marketing efforts back in oz.
Cheers

Hi Patrick, look forward to your comments and insights to US vs AUS.
The bandwidth debate has some relevant points, however, in the majority of cases I don’t think having a slower internet connecting justifies how backwards and slow our marketers have been in utilising digital media.
As simple as search, so many companies don’t even have a search strategy which works for most industries and doesn’t require a user to have anything faster than dial-up.
